About me

Studies

From a relatively young age I knew I wanted to become a physiotherapist. At the University of Leuven I flourished, finally I could study what appeared interesting to me.

Finishing my studies I followed the courses of Prof. Hendrickx, at the time in the sint Gerardus institute in Diepenbeek and following this I could get started immediately in a group practice in Leuven. There I worked nearly solely with children and developmental problems.

Seen I practiced a lot of sports at the time, and had lots of connection in the sportsworld, I wanted to learn a method that would enable me to treat sports injuries and acute pathology besides the Critical Developmental Accompaniment, method Hendrickx . And that is how I got to know Fasciatherapy.

I followed the basic training in Belgium and soon I belonged to a group of teachers who had a close working bond with Danis Bois. When he became a professor at the Universidade Moderna in Lissabon, I followed suit and attained a master after master in the ‘Pedagogy of the Perception of the Movement’, following a predoctorat (mestrado) in ’somato-psychopedagogy’. At this very moment in time I am waiting for the accomplishment of the establishment of the school of doctorate in Lissabon to continue my investigations.

Work

At the moment I am busy working in different fields: In the first place my group practice in Wemmel. Besides that I am spending 3 mornings per week in the rehabilitation Centrum for children with learning disabilities in Brussels. I teach in the basic course for Critical Developmental Accompanist, aswell as the European college of Fascia therapy in Drongen. Since 2007 I am a guest teacher at the Universidade Moderna of Lisbon. Finally I am the secretary of the professional society of the “Hendrickx Method”(VKOH) en Chairman of the professional society of Belgian and Dutch Fasciatherapists (BFmdb).

Personal

I share my life with Ann and am a proud dad of Michelle.

When I am not working or studying, you can find me with a camera or a tennisracket in my hand, with running shoes on my feet or on a mountainbike, maybe dangling from a kite…
